Fees and Rebates

Stuart and Phil are committed to providing high-quality, accessible psychological care and fees are set with reference to the Australian Psychological Society, National Schedule of Recommended Fees (currently $300–$320 per 5 minute session).

Standard Consultation Fees (50 mins) $290

Medicare Rebates for Psychology Services (2025): Clients under a GP Mental Health Care Plan are eligible to receive Medicare rebates for psychological sessions.

Clinical Psychologist: $145.25 per session
General Psychologist: $98.95 per session

NSW Police Force: currently covers “the gap fee”, meaning the member is not “out of pocket”. Please check with your organisation.

Private Health Insurance: Some funds provide partial rebates.

NDIS: Where psychology is included in your plan, services may be available.

SIRA and Workplace Injury: No out-of-pocket costs for the worker/client: Stuart is a registered provider with the State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) for workers’ compensation and motor accident (CTP) claims. When approved, sessions are billed directly to insurers.

Cancellations

We ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to reschedule or cancel. Sessions cancelled with less notice may attract a cancellation fee.

How to get a Mental Health Care Plan

  1. Visit your GP and discuss a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)
  2. Your GP can provide a referral to a psychologist via the MHCP
  3. Medicare rebates may be be claimed for up to 10 individual sessions per calendar year.
  4. Therapy sessions in some circumstances can continue when the client or psychologist is out of Australia, however Medicare does not provide a rebate in these circumstances.

Please note that Medicare and private health funds do not provide rebates for cancellation fees.
